Cairde Na hÉireann

In the last few weeks there has been a lot of rumours circulating about Cairde na hÉireann.

Some are just outright lies and can only be from our opponents.

We are currently in the midst of a legal process and keeping a low profile online. This is obviously giving our critics room for mischief making.

I will address some of the main points being raised only.

Cairde na hÉireann has not been put off the road.

We have not suspended or expelled any bands.

We are challenging the police and council on their discriminatory decisions.

A statement will be released soon but in the mean time people should speak to their delegates for more information.

12 Years Marching For Irish Freedom

Statement 15/11/2008

The Committee of the James Larkin RFB wish to announce that our

Band has been disbanded as of 15th November 2008.

We thank all our members, past and present, and supporters, for their time and commitment over the past 12 years.

The proud name of James Larkin will be carried forward through the work of the James Larkin Society.

We maintain our support for the political leadership of Sinn Fein, and our commitment to the struggle for the peaceful reunification of Ireland, and the establishment of a democratic 32 county Socialist Republic.

We urge all former Band members and Merseyside-based supporters to become involved in the political work of the James Larkin Society and Cairde na hEireann Liverpool, and to support the recently-established Liverpool Irish Patriots Republican Flute Band.
